Welcome!

Welcome to this week's edition of the DCS Charter Chatter! We're excited to share the latest happenings and updates from our school community to keep you informed and engaged. Make sure to check out teacher updates on parent square every Friday!

School News and Updates

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who generously donated snacks, treats, and beverages for our teachers in celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week. Your thoughtfulness and support helped create a warm and uplifting atmosphere for our staff, and it truly meant a lot to everyone on our team.
These kind gestures go a long way in reminding our teachers how valued and appreciated they are for the incredible work they do every day. We are grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive school community; thank you for helping us make this week so special!

We truly cannot do any of this without the incredible support of our families! Your involvement, generosity, and encouragement make a lasting impact on our school community and help create a positive and enriching environment for all of our students. Thank you for being such an important part of everything we do.

Exciting News: June Jumpstart & Fast Track Are Coming!

As Mrs. Woods announced earlier this year, DCS and PCS are following in the footsteps of MHS and launching our very own Fast Track Program! This means exciting opportunities for students to get ahead while keeping learning fun and engaging.

For Our 5th-7th Graders:
Get ready for June Jumpstart—an awesome way to kick-start next year with engaging activities and enrichment! June Jumpstart will run from Friday, May 23rd, through Friday, June 27th from 8:00am-12:00pm and will help students stay sharp, build skills, and start the next school year feeling confident! Check out the presentation below for more information! This is not optional.

For Our 8th Graders Moving to MHS:
Those heading to MHS next year will get a head start on their high school journey by joining MHS Fast Track from May 23rd to June 27th from 8:30am-12:45pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to get acclimated to high school expectations, make new friends, and get ahead academically!

Here is the presentation from our MHS Fast Track Parent Info Night: https://drive.google.com/file/d/115xFctlh34kwxxjfez7N7naViz3fwMLR/view?usp=sharing

For 8th Graders NOT Attending MHS:
Your last day of school will be Thursday, May 22nd, so get ready to celebrate all you’ve accomplished before heading off to your next adventure!

We’re thrilled to offer these programs and can’t wait to see our students grow, learn, and thrive!

8th Grade Promotion Activities

Great America Trip & Transportation
The Great America trip and bus transportation payments will go live on Aeries Financial Monday, April 14th and parents will be able to purchase the items then. Check the image above on how to purchase on Aeries.
Please note that payments for this trip are non-refundable, as tickets and transportation must be secured in advance.

Promotion Ceremony Attire
For this year’s promotion ceremony, students will be wearing stoles instead of gowns. Families do not need to purchase the stoles—they will be provided and loaned by the school for students to wear during the ceremony.
We are excited to celebrate our 8th grade students and will continue to keep you informed as these special events approach.
